Introduction to my black book of development rules, which I have compiled throughout my career in engineering and software development. The objective is to help experienced and beginners based on what I have learnt during my career. Everyone must make their own mistakes, but this list may prevent some of them and allow more opportunities for others.
Introduction to my black book of development rules, which I have compiled throughout my career in engineering and software development. The rules compiled here were part of the training and context I provided to my development teams. They touch many different subjects, from "human contact basics" to risk management, including software development and project management. They are concise and opinionated as they are based on my professional and life experience. Just take what works for you.
In previous presentations I have observed that there seems to be something for everyone, whether beginners of experienced developers.
I believe these rules are a timeless contribution as they are not outdated by time, like the technical talks.
I would like this project to grow with contributions beyond mine and I encourage all of the participants to share their experience.
I will share information of where to find them online and how to contribute your own experiences to the project as I would like this to become something much more representative for everyone to learn from.
I have 10 years of experience as Aeronautical Engineer and 17 in software development, with almost 20 years in Drupal.org. I have covered all possible roles from Developer to Solutions Architect, including Project and Product Management.
